Juan Camilo Chara Lucumi Linden, NJ Accident Death Obituary: A tragic crash in Jamesburg has claimed the life of 28-year-old Juan Camilo Chara Lucumi after authorities say his vehicle became airborne and burst into flames during the early morning hours of Sunday, May 10.

According to police, emergency responders were dispatched to Forsgate Drive near Buckelew Avenue around 1:16 a.m. following reports of a serious accident. Upon arrival, officers discovered a heavily damaged vehicle fully engulfed in fire with the driver trapped inside.

Officials later identified the victim as Juan Camilo Chara Lucumi of Union County. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Middlesex County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Preliminary findings from investigators indicate the vehicle was traveling eastbound on Forsgate Drive at a very high speed when the driver reportedly lost control. Authorities say the car struck a dam wall near Thompson Park, launched into the air, crossed over Buckelew Avenue, and collided with the bridge spanning Manalapan Creek.

Police estimate the vehicle traveled approximately 250 feet airborne before crashing into an embankment near the creek below. The exact cause of the crash remains under investigation.

A GoFundMe campaign created by Thayna Costa is currently raising funds to support funeral arrangements and help return Juan Camilo to Colombia, where loved ones hope to honor his memory among family and friends.

The devastating accident has left relatives and community members mourning the sudden and heartbreaking loss.
