Dr. Pauline Olsen Farmington, CT Obituary Death: The Farmington, Connecticut community is mourning the loss of Dr. Pauline Olsen, a beloved physician, missionary, and humanitarian who passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 10, 2026. Her remarkable life of faith, compassion, and service touched countless people across the United States and abroad, leaving behind an enduring legacy of kindness and dedication.

Born in Kilfenora, County Clare, Ireland, Dr. Pauline Olsen was the eldest child of Nancy and Tim Nagle. She joined the religious Order of St. Columban in 1955 and later attended University College Dublin, graduating from medical school in 1963. After completing her internship at Mater Hospital, she traveled to South Korea in 1965, where she served for eight years as a missionary sister providing compassionate medical care.

Dr. Olsen later completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at St. Vincent’s Hospital in New York City and a fellowship in maternal-fetal medicine at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford. Beginning in 1980, she built a highly respected OB/GYN practice that served the Hartford community for more than 25 years.

Known for her humility, patience, and tireless generosity, Dr. Olsen founded the Malta House of Care Clinic and later established the Malta Food Pantry to support families facing hardship. Her humanitarian work extended to medical mission trips in Haiti and the Dominican Republic.

Predeceased by her husband, Zenny, in 1997, Pauline leaves behind sisters, extended family members, godchildren, friends, former patients, and an entire community grateful for her life of service.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 18, at Church of St. Patrick, followed by burial at Riverside Cemetery and a celebration of life reception at the church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Malta House of Care Clinic or the Malta Food Pantry. May Dr. Pauline Olsen rest in eternal peace.
