It is with profound sadness that the family of Paulette Ruth Young announces her passing on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at the age of 65. Paulette passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories.
Born in Sandy Point, Paulette was the beloved daughter of the late George and Hazel (Nickerson) Young. She later made her home in Springhill, where she became known for her vibrant personality, compassionate spirit, and ability to bring joy wherever she went.
Paulette Ruth Young will be remembered as the “life of the party,” someone whose laughter, kindness, and generous heart touched countless lives. She loved shopping trips to Truro with family and friends and treasured every moment spent with her grandchildren. Her family recalls how deeply she loved visits from Maria, Angel, Luke, Lilly, and Murphy, who brought immense joy to her life.
She is lovingly survived by her daughters, Lisa McNutt of Oxford, Nova Scotia, and Tracy McNutt of Amherst, Nova Scotia, along with their father, David McNutt of Oxford. Paulette also leaves behind siblings Joy (Ivan) Scott, Jill (Roddy) Townsend, Bev (Darrell) Williams, and Shirley (Tracey) Jackson, as well as many extended family members and friends who will deeply miss her.
In addition to her parents, Paulette was predeceased by her sister Dianne Enslow, half-sister Virginia Hambly, and her beloved cat, Tiger.
Funeral Arrangements and Celebration of Life
Funeral arrangements are under the care of A H Brown Funeral Home. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at the Springhill Legion Basement on Saturday, May 23, from Noon until 4 PM. All are welcome to attend and honor Paulette’s memory.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Paulette may be made to the LA Animal Shelter.
