Taran Strong Accident What Happened: Questions Continue Surrounding Deadly Georgetown County Collision

Taran Strong Accident What Happened: New developments continue to emerge in the tragic South Carolina crash that claimed the lives of 49-year-old Glendora Holmes and 3-year-old Micki Nolan on September 10, 2020, along U.S. Route 521 in Georgetown County.

The devastating collision occurred shortly after 5 a.m. near Andrews, South Carolina, when a 2003 Ford Expedition driven by 37-year-old Taran “Tar” Nolan of Mission Viejo, California, traveled westbound in the eastbound lanes of the divided highway. Nolan’s vehicle collided head-on with a 2010 Cadillac Escalade driven by Glendora Holmes, resulting in the deaths of Holmes and young Micki Nolan. Taran Nolan and two of her other children suffered critical injuries in the crash.

As the case continues through the South Carolina court system, questions remain regarding liability, insurance coverage, and roadway safety conditions. Holmes’ family, represented by South Carolina State Representative Cezar McKnight, has continued seeking justice while raising concerns over fair treatment and insurance settlements related to the fatal accident.

In recent statements, Jimmy Nolan, husband of Taran Nolan, blamed the South Carolina Department of Transportation for allegedly failing to maintain warning signs near the intersection. According to Nolan, critical “Wrong Way” and “Do Not Enter” signs were either missing or down at the time of the crash, potentially contributing to the tragedy.

Nolan also questioned why the Ford Expedition caught fire following the collision and defended his wife publicly, insisting the crash was accidental and noting no criminal charges were pending against her.

However, official reports from the South Carolina Department of Public Safety reportedly listed Taran Nolan as being at fault in the collision. Investigators continue reviewing evidence, while additional findings may emerge through a pending MAIT report requested through the Freedom of Information Act.

The heartbreaking case continues to draw attention as both families seek answers, accountability, and justice following a tragedy that forever changed their lives.
