Wreck on 75: Wrong-Way I-75 Crash in Greater Cincinnati Leaves Two Drivers Critically Injured
Wreck on 75: Authorities in West Chester are investigating a serious wrong-way crash on Interstate 75 that left two drivers with life-threatening injuries early Friday morning. Investigators with the Ohio State Highway Patrol believe impairment may have played a role in the devastating collision.

According to officials, troopers received reports around 2:20 a.m. of a Honda Civic traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of I-75 near Interstate 275 in Butler County. Around the same time, authorities were also alerted to a Honda Accord reportedly being driven recklessly and possibly by an impaired driver.

The Honda Civic ultimately collided head-on with the Accord in the northbound lanes. Following the impact, the Accord was struck by a tractor-trailer, while a Kia later hit debris scattered across the roadway.

Emergency crews worked to rescue both drivers from the heavily damaged vehicles before transporting them to UC Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

The crash forced authorities to shut down all northbound lanes of I-75 beyond I-275 for several hours as investigators processed the scene and crews cleared wreckage. Lanes were later reopened to traffic.

Officials continue investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash, including whether alcohol or impairment contributed to the incident.
